Job summary

Intertek seeks a Regional Engineer – Geotechnical in Fairfax, VA to lead geotechnical projects across transportation and infrastructure sectors. You will perform evaluations, supervise staff, and prepare geotechnical reports while engaging with clients to identify new opportunities.

The role requires a Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering, 10+ years of experience, and a Virginia P.E. license or eligibility, with proficiency in GeoStudio and related software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited program in engineering.
• Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering is required.
• Virginia P.E. license or ability to obtain within residence/adjacent states.
• 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Proficiency in GeoStudio suite and standard geotechnical software.

Responsibilities

• Provide geotechnical engineering support on diverse project types (infrastructure, transportation, vertical rise, etc.).
• Perform evaluations using standard geotechnical techniques and engineering judgment.
• Prepare and review geotechnical reports and project scopes.
• Mentor technical staff and coordinate with staff nationwide.
• Engage with clients and attend site meetings to develop new opportunities.
