Job summary

Intertek, a global quality and safety leader, seeks a Regional Engineer - Geotechnical in Kennesaw, GA. You will deliver geotechnical analysis, report preparation, and staff mentorship for diverse transportation and infrastructure projects.

The role requires a geotechnical master’s degree, 10+ years’ experience, and a Georgia P.E. license or ability to obtain. Proficiency in major software and strong client communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from ABET-accredited engineering program and Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering required.
• 10+ years of experience required.
• Georgia P.E. License required or ability to obtain in state of residence and adjacent states as needed.
• Proficient in GeoStudio, APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SHAFT, Plaxis, Midas, SLIDE, Settle3D, and MSEW, and other proprietary geotechnical software.
• Obtain Principal Consultant status internally (CS 5 years’ experience/Geo 8 years’ experience).
• Effective communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities; ability to work with teams nationwide and globally.

Responsibilities

• Provide geotechnical engineering support on transportation and infrastructure projects, big-box developments, multi-family and vertical rise constructions, and other geotechnical initiatives.
• Perform independent evaluations using standard geotechnical techniques with engineering judgment for modifications.
• Interpret laboratory and field test results and project conditions to inform recommendations.
• Prepare and review geotechnical reports according to specifications and project scope.
• Assign work to staff and coordinate with local and remote teams.
• Develop client relationships and identify new project opportunities; attend client meetings.
• Mentor and train technical staff; participate in site observations and inspections as needed.
