Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Regional Engineer - Geotechnical in Fairfax, VA to lead geotechnical projects, supervise staff, and build strong client relationships. You will review reports, guide technical decisions, and ensure project success across transportation and infrastructure work.

The ideal candidate has a BS from ABET program, a MS in Geotechnical Engineering, 10+ years’ experience, and a Virginia P.E. license or the ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering required.
• 10+ years of geotechnical experience expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide geotechnical engineering support on diverse projects (infrastructure, transportation, multi-family).
• Perform evaluations using standard geotechnical techniques and adapt as needed.
• Interpret lab and field data, prepare and review geotechnical reports.
• Assign tasks, mentor staff, and manage scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Engage with clients, attend meetings, and foster new project opportunities.
• Ensure safety practices and compliance on site.
