Job summary

The ALS Association is seeking a Development Manager for a remote position serving communities across Arkansas. You will raise funds through Walk to Defeat ALS, events, gifts, grants, and statewide campaigns while building relationships with supporters.

You’ll oversee revenue strategy, manage budgets and data, collaborate with volunteers and staff, coordinate communications, and travel up to 25% as needed to support local events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 2–5 years of development, sales or fundraising experience.
• Experience in planning, leading, and managing development events, including coordinating with volunteers.
• Outstanding communication skills, articulate and persuasive, with well-honed relationship building skills.
• Flexible, adaptable, with an ability to effectively work in teams.
• Understands and implements an integrated fundraising/development approach to best advance the mission.
• Loves working with people and proven ability to build and manage relationships that help advance an organization’s mission through fundraising and donations.
• Strong computer/technology skills, including MS Office, database management, and other web-based software programs.
• The ability to travel up to 25% of the time and work occasional nights and weekends for Association business and events.
• Must have own transportation and valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance.
• Ability to occasionally bend, lift and carry equipment and other materials (up to 30 pounds).

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive engagement and fundraising strategies to drive revenue and manage budgets.
• Grow corporate and individual giving, including cultivating proposals, securing commitments, stewardship, and retention.
• Represent The ALS Association at community events to raise awareness of programs and services.
• Create fundraising materials and presentations for outreach activities.
• Mentor and coach Team Captains and participants to build personal and team fundraising plans.
• Analyze fundraising data to forecast revenue and identify opportunities and challenges.
• Collaborate with Marketing to execute local event-related communications and materials.
• Understand the organization’s history, structure, and programs to align fundraising efforts.
• Draft grant proposals and supporting documents and submit to grant coordinators for approval.
• Coordinate event logistics, communications, and collateral with the development team.
• Manage Convio, Team Raiser, Salesforce, and Greater Giving platforms to track financial progress.
