Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Registered Nurse - Regional Float in Michigan to support medical-surgical units across the system. This part-time role offers 24 hours per month with midnight shifts, providing diversified clinical experience within a renowned health system.

As a centralized float pool nurse, you’ll cover multiple units based on need, maintain high-quality patient care, and enjoy flexible scheduling with premium pay differentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum 2-3 years of recent clinical nursing experience in medical-surgical or related acute care settings.
• Ability to work across multiple hospital units as part of a centralized float pool.
• Strong clinical knowledge and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients across medical and surgical units, adapting to diverse patient populations and clinical settings
• Assess patient conditions and identify potential complications prior to significant changes in vital signs or clinical status
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient assessment and clinical best practices
• Perform a wide range of nursing interventions and procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards of care
• Monitor and document patient progress, vital signs, and responses to treatment with accuracy and attention to detail
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff regarding patient status and care plans
• Maintain a safe and clean patient environment while adhering to infection control and safety standards
• Respond promptly to patient needs and requests while managing multiple patient assignments efficiently
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability as a regional float nurse, transitioning between units and shifts as needed
• Maintain current knowledge of nursing practices and participate in ongoing professional development
