Job summary

CSX is seeking a líder to oversee outsourced vehicle maintenance, repair, and upfitting across an assigned geographic region with 24/7 accountability. You will validate repair scope, enforce standards, and ensure safety and cost control while coordinating with internal departments and vendors.

The role requires extensive travel (up to 60-80%), irregular hours, and field inspections to ensure work meets DOT, FRA, and manufacturer specs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in vehicle maintenance, vendor management, and review/audit of repair estimates, invoices, and workmanship.
• Experience evaluating repair estimates, labor and parts pricing, and vendor invoices for accuracy and necessity.
• Strong focus on safety, compliance, and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Lead outsourced vehicle maintenance, repair, inspection, and upfitting with 24/7 operational responsibility.
• Review and approve repair estimates prior to execution and validate completed repairs in the field.
• Manage vendor and upfitter performance and enforce contract standards and pricing expectations.
• Identify fraud, overbilling, or unnecessary repairs and drive corrective action.
• Coordinate with fleet management, procurement, and budget owners on costs and outcomes.
• Forecast field activity and allocate travel and oversight across territory.
