Job summary

Terracon in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a senior accounting leader to manage project registrations, invoicing, WIP, and revenue recognition. You will mentor staff, coordinate with Corporate Accounting and Operational Finance, and drive timely client invoicing and collections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 8+ years of experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
• Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable/invoicing, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills with Pivot Tables, LOOKUP and formulas.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, and managing financial activities for projects (registrations, invoicing, WIP, revenue recognition, collections).
• Lead a team of accounting professionals to produce invoices, registrations, and collections efforts.
• Read and analyze project contracts to assess impact on billing and revenue recognition.
• Coordinate billing with regional leadership and address AR/WIP issues.
• Ensure compliance with invoicing procedures per industry practices and company policies.
• Provide training to Project Managers and staff on financial reports and tools.
• Monitor workloads and review aged WIP/AR to support cash flow and strategic initiatives.
• Identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures with Operational Finance.
