Job summary

Terracon seeks a senior finance professional to lead project registrations, invoicing, WIP management, revenue recognition, and collections across regional teams. You will partner with Corporate Accounting and Operational Finance to ensure compliance with invoicing procedures and company policies.

In this role, you will mentor accounting staff, analyze project contracts for billing impact, drive timely cash flow, and support ERP improvements and ad hoc finance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 8+ years of experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and business processes.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, advanced formulas).

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, and managing financial activities related to project registrations, invoicing, WIP, revenue recognition, and collections.
• Acting as an extension of the Project Manager, participate in meetings with regional leadership to remedy AR, WIP, UR issues.
• Ensure compliance with invoicing procedures according to industry practices and company policies.
• Lead a team of accounting professionals to produce accurate client invoices along with project registrations and collections.
• Read, understand, and analyze project contracts related to billing and revenue recognition.
• Investigate and elevate financial or contractual project issues to Operational Finance and Operations Management.
• Coordinate regional billing and communicate billing services to Operations Project Management.
• Receive quality assurance audits from Operational Finance and hold regional staff accountable.
• Support the evaluation and monitoring of workloads for regional accounting staff.
• Review aged WIP and AR to support strategic initiatives and report on unbilled WIP.
• Participate with clients to facilitate smooth workflow of documentation and invoicing.
• Oversee electronic project files related to financial documentation and approvals.
• Identify billing/AR discrepancies, research their origin, and implement corrective actions.
• Demonstrate proficiency in company software including project registrations, billing platforms, and collections tools.
