Job summary

Compass Resourcing Group, LLC is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform electrical testing, preventative maintenance, commissioning, and related power engineering tasks at client facilities across the region. The role requires 3+ years of electrical testing experience, NETA familiarity, and strong teamwork.

The position involves up to 60% regional travel, on-site supervision of junior technicians, and ensuring safety practices and regulatory compliance. High school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years electrical testing experience.
• Industrial safety, LOTO practices.
• Electrical background or Electrical Field Service Engineer (BSEE preferred).
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and three-line drawings.
• Experience with test equipment such as megger, hi-pot, WRM, TTR, and power factor test sets.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and collect data on electrical systems.
• Supervise Trainees, Assistants, and Technicians on testing duties.
• Guide, mentor, train Level 1 and 2 certified NETA Trainees and Assistant Technicians.
• Maintain, test, repair, rebuild, and replace low, medium, and high-voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.
• Test and commission protection and control systems on high voltage substations.
• Rotate emergency on-call duty and document test results.
