Job summary

Gateway Services is seeking a Health & Safety Specialist to support operations across the East region. This field-facing role partners with operational leaders, conducts workplace assessments, supports investigations and implements practical preventive actions.

You will help translate safety requirements into everyday practices, share timely field information, and contribute to safer, more compliant operations across multiple care centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, Environmental Engineering or related field.
• At least four years of relevant safety experience.
• Experience with workplace inspections, incident investigations and job-hazard analysis.
• Strong communication skills to explain safety requirements to leaders and frontline teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Operations to conduct workplace assessments and inspections.
• Support incident investigations and identify practical preventive actions.
• Ensure safety commitments are followed post-audit or investigation.
• Translate requirements into practical actions and provide timely field guidance.
• Build trusted relationships with operations leaders and care center teams.
• Use data from incidents and trends to identify recurring risks and recommend improvements.
