Job summary

For Our Future Action Fund seeks a Regional Organizing Director for Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo, MI. The role leads organizing and paid canvassing, recruits and trains teams, and executes statewide field plans with frequent travel throughout Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo regions.

The position runs through at least November 2026 with a focus on grassroots engagement, voter education, and progressive campaigns. Collaborative leadership and strong turnout initiatives are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 1-2 campaign or advocacy cycles.
• 2+ years managing a team and achieving field goals.
• 2+ years working with volunteers.
• 2+ years relationship-based organizing and leadership development.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for at least 1 year.
• Experience implementing statewide field plans for an assigned region.
• Ability to build partnerships with progressive organizations.
• Experience developing data-driven campaigns to meet metrics.
• Experience supporting media and communications programs (preferred).
• Ability to coach and train staff effectively.
• Basic computer literacy; reliable laptop preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily regional operations and keep a productive workspace.
• Plan and execute a comprehensive regional organizing strategy.
• Lead volunteer recruitment, training, and management.
• Collaborate with state leadership on communications and digital strategies.
• Build relationships with progressive leaders and regional partners.
• Manage organizers and canvassers to educate constituents and run GOTV programs.
• Represent the organization at community events as needed.
• Hire, train, and manage canvassers and volunteers.
• Provide coaching and develop best practices for organizing and canvassing.
• Conduct daily training and shift debriefs.
• Monitor regional metrics and ensure targets are met.
• Ensure timely soft reporting and data entry.
• Other duties may be assigned.
