Job summary

Extended Stay America is seeking an Area Maintenance Technician to lead and mentor Maintenance Technicians across multiple ESA properties within a defined region. You will drive safety, quality, and efficiency while coordinating preventive maintenance programs and regional projects.

The role emphasizes leadership, hands-on facilities management, and collaboration with RAM and regional operations leaders to reduce costs and improve performance across sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; or 1–3 years related experience.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Willingness and openness to continuously learn and apply industry trends.
• Strong people and project management skills.
• Proven negotiation and influencing abilities, with strong analytical skills.
• Knowledge of painting, drywall patching, caulking, flooring, and basic plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Provide training, coaching and development to Maintenance Technicians within the region.
• Demonstrate accountability for safety, maintenance, parts inventory and data quality.
• Lead and mentor teams with minimal supervision.
• Ensure regional processes and corporate initiatives are followed across the region.
• Foster relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders to support facility programs.
• Deliver prompt, courteous customer service in the assigned area.
• Analyze operating metrics and identify actions to address trends and inefficiencies.
• Ensure maintenance work complies with State, Federal and company standards.
• Identify opportunities for safety and operational improvements and implement best practices.
• Lead projects with timelines and resources, overcoming barriers to objectives.
• Serve as SME for facilities management, safety and compliance to maintenance staff.
• Recommend process improvements in collaboration with RAM and regional leaders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
