Job summary

QSL Management is seeking an Area Facilities Specialist to oversee the physical plant operations across Gulf Coast communities. You will travel frequently (roughly 75%) to assess maintenance, safety, and housekeeping, guiding teams and vendors to meet high standards of reliability and appearance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; vocational training or certifications in HVAC, electrical, or building trades strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in facility maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or multi-site leadership role.
• Prior experience in senior living, hospitality, healthcare, or multi-family housing preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with OSHA, ADA, life safety codes, and emergency preparedness.

Responsibilities

• Travel regularly between assigned communities (approx. 75% travel within the region) to assess, support, and guide maintenance operations.
• Complete maintenance-related tasks as needed while traveling as Director of Facility Maintenance.
• Ensure facilities meet or exceed standards for cleanliness, safety, preventative maintenance, and regulatory compliance (OSHA, fire safety, etc.).
• Conduct audits and inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety risks, or deferred maintenance issues.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors on capital projects and repairs, ensuring quality work and cost control.
• Assist in emergency preparedness planning and lead or support safety drills and compliance initiatives.
• Serve as a technical advisor for on-site teams, offering troubleshooting support for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, and other systems.
