Job summary

James Hardie Corporation seeks an Area Sales Manager to cover Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Louisville, driving sales of Versatex Trim and Siding. This is an individual contributor role with a focus on building relationships with distributors, dealers, builders and remodelers, while expanding product awareness and demand.

You’ll manage field calls, provide hands‑on product training, coordinate dealer plans, and participate in trade shows.

Qualifications

• 3–10 years outside sales experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or related.
• Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Sales process experience, particularly in consultative selling and negotiation.
• Valid driving license and ability to travel overnight.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage dealer, architect, builder, remodeler and contractor relationships.
• Maintain aggressive end user call schedule; meet with end users to raise awareness of Versatex products.
• Provide in-field training to builders, remodelers and installers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with dealers and their sales reps (key dealers).
• Schedule and conduct field sales calls with dealer and distribution reps.
• Engage distributor management and distributor sales reps; plan and execute end user events at dealer yards.
• Train dealer/distributor reps and discuss marketing funds usage.
• Respond to inquiries about product availability, applications and terms.
• Help resolve customer concerns and assist with warranty claims in the field.
• Lead opportunities with local dealers and maintain product displays in the field.
• Represent the company at trade shows and maintain CRM records.
