Qualifications

• Two years as an Environmental Group Manager (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title).
• Seven years of professional environmental protection experience that includes two years of technical supervisory experience and a bachelor’s degree in the biological, physical or environmental sciences, engineering, or a closely related field.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience in environmental protection that includes two years of technical supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct regional waste management activities and coordinate major program components.
• Guide Section Chiefs, set clear expectations, and support staff with regular communication.
• Prioritize enforcement actions and coordinate activities with legal and investigative partners.
• Review, monitor, and support municipal planning and resource recovery grants.
• Establish permitting priorities and manage the regional permitting workload.
• Determine staffing needs, assign workloads, and coordinate emergency response participation.

Education

Bachelor's degree in the biological, physical or environmental sciences, engineering, or closely related field

Equivalent combination of education and experience in environmental protection including two years of technical supervisory experience
