Job summary

Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC) in Pittston, PA, seeks a Northeast Regional Director to provide strategic leadership, oversee programs and grants, and build partnerships across Northeast Pennsylvania. The role involves managing staff, fundraising activities, and ensuring program quality and financial sustainability.

You will supervise the Program Coordinator and Program Manager, engage with government agencies and funders, and advance PEC’s mission through community development,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental studies, natural resource management, urban planning, public administration, business, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in program management, nonprofit leadership, community development, environmental initiatives, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience managing staff, projects, budgets, and external partnerships.
• Grant administration, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement experience preferred.
• Passion for environmental stewardship, sustainable communities, outdoor recreation, and Pennsylvania’s natural resources.

Responsibilities

• Lead regional planning, implementation, evaluation of programs, and alignment with PEC’s objectives.
• Identify partnerships, funding sources, and opportunities to support strategic goals.
• Represent PEC with communities, officials, funders, and stakeholders.
• Directly manage regional projects, partnerships, grant deliverables, and program outcomes.
• Ensure programs meet milestones, budgets, outcomes, and compliance requirements.
• Supervise and develop staff; foster a collaborative, inclusive culture.
