Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Regional Environmental Engineer to lead environmental compliance for AWS data centers in West Texas and guide teams in implementing Amazon environmental standards.

The role involves developing standards, performing performance analysis, and engaging with government entities and partners across the state and the US. You will build metrics, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring regulatory adherence and collaboration with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.
• Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs including regulated waste, water, and air regulations.
• 5+ years experience as environmental compliance specialist.
• Project management experience in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure (preferred).
• Experience in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, service operations, or related fields (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee compliance with environmental regulations and Amazon policy.
• Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization.
• Ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with Amazon standards.
• Develop environmental metrics to measure, monitor and forecast performance.
• Conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement.
• Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently.
• Represent Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies and throughout the company.
• Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed appropriately.
• Assist in time-critical compliance report submission to various governmental agencies.
• Complete thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports and develop appropriate corrective action.
