Job summary

NiSource is seeking a Team Leader Engineering to guide regional engineering activities, manage capital programs, and ensure safe, compliant designs. The role emphasizes leadership, coordination with operations, and accountability for project delivery to customers.

The position requires an ABET-accredited degree and 3+ years in gas utility engineering/operations, with proficiency in NiSource standards and common software tools. A PE license and PMP are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in an ABET-accredited engineering or engineering technology program.
• 3+ years of experience in gas utility engineering or operations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles, gas system design and budget management.
• Familiarity with utility codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Proficiency with NiSource codes, rules, and procedures related to utility engineering and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a diverse team of engineering staff with authority over hiring and performance management.
• Oversee all regional engineering activities and assign projects to staff.
• Develop and manage local/state capital plans within budget.
• Deliver safe, cost-efficient engineering designs compliant with codes and standards.
• Provide technical and emergency support to Field Operations and stakeholders.
