Job summary

NiSource is looking for a Project Engineer (Levels I, II, or III) to support engineering and construction of large-scale power generation projects. This role involves managing engineering activities from conceptual design to operations transition while ensuring safety and cost-effectiveness.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and experience in utility or industrial environments. The position is based in Indiana and includes responsibilities in project management and engineering coordination.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4–7 years of engineering experience for Project Engineer II.
• Minimum 10+ years of engineering experience for Project Engineer III.
• Ability to work in adverse field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering scope and support detailed design.
• Coordinate engineering reviews and document control.
• Communicate engineering status to project leadership.

Skills

Knowledge of standard computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Proficiency in project management principles

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse internal and external stakeholders

Ability to travel as required

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited university
