Job description

ABM is seeking Regional Engineering Business Development Managers based in Los Angeles / Tustin, CA. This role acts as the engineering subject matter expert (SME) to develop new client relationships in need of Engineering Facility Services in the Southern California Region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Facilities Engineer who has an aptitude for business development and is seeking an improved work / life balance!

Pay Range : $119,053-175,875

The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and market data.

You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program.

Essential Functions :

  1. Responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing, and maintaining strategic relationships, and driving sales growth in the facilities engineering industry.
  2. Involvement in industry-led networking organizations and attendance at events to build relationships within your region.
  3. Work closely with engineering operations teams to leverage current business to gain insight into potential strategies around national client attainment.
  4. Develop and execute short and long-term sales plans, maintain current sales, attract and connect with new prospects, create proposals, respond to RFPs, and facilitate and close new business.
  5. Use ABM-branded marketing materials to create detailed, customized, innovative, and lively proposals.
  6. Utilize ABM’s customer resourcing technologies to research a customer's existing facility solutions and programs and schedule a bid walk of the facility with the prospect.
  7. Collaborate with operations for strategic & financial planning and execution.
  8. Assist in contract negotiation and manage the transition to operations to ensure the proposal commitments are delivered.
  9. Position yourself within your territory as a leader in your field.
  10. Establish a diverse network of relationships that reflect the ABM Way, including industry influencers, community partners, strategic partners, and prospective clients.
  11. Be a trusted advisor to existing and potential clients to demonstrate value.
  12. Maintain a database for the territory using ABM’s CRM.
  13. Support the company’s online and direct marketing campaigns.
  14. Monitor bid schedules and understand the competition in the marketplace fully.
  15. Develop a network of skilled and informed operators to ensure understanding of prospects, clients, and your sales territory.
  16. Assist the corporation with competitive intelligence.

Minimum Requirements :

  1. 5+ years in Engineering Operations or Business Development in the facilities engineering field.
  2. Aptitude and experience with facility engineering solutions sales and a successful history of implementing new ideas and processes.
  3. Facility services, commercial real estate, or related field experience is mandatory.
  4. Relevant and immediate sales contacts are preferred.
  5. Ability to work well under pressure to meet goals and deadlines.
  6. Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  7. Proven leadership and management skills for diverse workforces, and collaboration with operations and other departments.
  8. Strong skills in writing and presenting detailed sales proposals.
  9. Experience in pricing/estimating labor within proposals and understanding budgets is preferred.
  10. Well-organized with the ability to handle multiple proposals and processes simultaneously.
  11. Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
