Job Description

If you are a Business Development professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you in the West region! This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must be based in either Irvine, California, or Phoenix, Arizona. In this role, you will be at the forefront of driving innovation and growth by identifying and seizing new business opportunities. With deep expertise in our product and solutions portfolio, you will play a key role in addressing customer needs and positioning our offerings as solutions to their challenges. Collaborating closely with Account Managers, you will engage with key decision-makers and technical experts, building positive relationships and demonstrating the value of our products.

Responsibilities:

  1. Driving the identification and creation of new business opportunities for our product solutions, collaborating closely with account managers to expand our customer base.
  2. Cultivating relationships with customer stakeholders and subject matter experts, guiding them through technical discussions and product presentations to support the selling process.
  3. Maintaining a deep understanding of our products and solutions, conducting demonstrations and test installations to showcase their value in addressing customer challenges.
  4. Leading specific project opportunities from initial contact through to PO, collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth execution and alignment with project goals.
  5. Staying informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to provide insights that keep our offerings competitive and aligned with customer needs.
  6. Supporting and mentoring sales teams by providing product training, facilitating the implementation of business strategies, and ensuring sales channels are equipped with the necessary knowledge.
  7. Contributing to strategic planning by identifying regional market opportunities, providing feedback on product competitiveness, and participating in product line planning and development.
  8. Tracking and reporting on important data and monitoring customer satisfaction to support ongoing improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical field.
  • Seven (7) years of industry experience; four (4) of which must be in sales or marketing.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 50%.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior Business Development experience.
  • MBA preferred.
