Business Development Manager, Builder Accounts

As a Single Family Business Development Manager for our Moen brand, you will develop a market strategy targeting national and regional single-family home builders to grow builder business and expand market share in Southern California. You will collaborate with other territory managers and support wholesalers in the market.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in outside sales and large account management, be highly autonomous, and able to travel overnight approximately 1-3 nights per month. A background in contract negotiation and P&L management is also preferred.

This remote role is based in the Los Angeles area. We provide a company car, laptop, and cell phone. The salary range is from $100,000 to $130,000 base, with bonus potential based on territory performance. The territory includes Southern California, covering Paso Robles, Bakersfield, Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego.

Responsibilities include:

  • Achieving annual sales targets and contributing to overall company goals.
  • Collaborating with the Regional Manager to develop a market-specific strategy focused on builders, owners, contractors, developers, and architects.
  • Growing relationships and market share with top national, regional, and local builders.
  • Mentoring Territory Managers to develop BDM skills.
  • Partnering with Territory Managers to set and meet annual targets.
  • Building professional relationships with strategic builders.
  • Maximizing the Moen product portfolio with single-family builders.
  • Driving specifications for national accounts at the regional level.
  • Using technology and process improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Supporting the Regional Manager in developing regional sales support networks.
  • Preparing business proposals for key decision-makers.
  • Managing budgets to maintain and grow business.
  • Monitoring market trends, consumer and trade attitudes, and competitive practices.
  • Organizing resources to maximize sales with strategic customers.

Basic qualifications:

  • 5+ years of outside sales experience.
  • Contract negotiation skills with key accounts.
  • Understanding of marketing and product development within a corporate environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Market analysis and strategic response capabilities.
  • Flexibility to travel and work non-standard hours.

Preferred qualifications:
