Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Estimator to lead the estimating functions within the assigned region. You will manage budgets, staffing, and work assignments while applying established policies to meet corporate goals.

You will partner with project managers on procurements, review market costs, and coordinate with design leads to optimize constructability and cost effectiveness across multiple trades. Travel may be required.

• Highly proficient in estimating practices and cost control.
• Able to read drawings and specifications for missing elements.
• Experience estimating across multiple trades and projects.

Responsibilities

• Manages estimating functions including budgets, staffing, and work assignments.
• Implements estimating policies to meet corporate objectives.
• collaborates with project managers on PO, subcontracts, and change orders.
• Supervises market cost studies and data base changes.
• Reviews project details with region leadership and suggests strategies.
• Coordinates with design leads for cost effectiveness and constructability.
• Ensures standardized use of estimating systems and maintains cost data.
• Maintains historical data for estimating hours across types of estimates.
• Reviews final estimates and proposals for accuracy and completeness.
• Contacts subcontractors and suppliers for outsource pricing.
• Performs additional duties as required.
