Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced estimator lead to oversee regional estimating functions, budgets, and staffing. You will coordinate with project managers for procurements, prepare cost studies, and help set strategies to improve cost effectiveness across multiple trades.

Domestic and international travel may be required; 10+ years of related experience and at least 3 years in supervision are expected. A degree is not strictly required if equivalent experience is shown.

Qualifications

• 10 years of related experience with at least 3 of those years in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Manages and administers the estimating functions in assigned region, area or group to include operating budgets, staffing assignments, and work assignments.
• Implements established estimating policies in in assigned region, area or group to meet overall corporate objectives.
• Works with project managers to provide administrative and technical assistance in negotiating purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders during procurement.
• Supervises the preparation of market cost studies, materials and methods, and recommends appropriate changes to database.
• Assists region leadership by reviewing project details and provides recommendations, and collaboratively determines strategies, techniques, and resources needed.
