Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Estimator to lead estimating functions across regions. You will manage budgets, staffing, and workflow while collaborating with project managers on procurement, bids, and change orders.

The role requires a strong background in estimating techniques, cost control, and the ability to review complex project details to drive accurate proposals. Travel may be required to support multiple sites.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent. 10 years of related experience with at least 3 of those years in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on duties and workload.

Responsibilities

• Manages and administers the estimating functions in assigned region, area or group to include operating budgets, staffing assignments, and work assignments.
• Implements established estimating policies in assigned region, area or group to meet corporate objectives.
• Works with project managers to provide administrative and technical assistance in negotiating purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders during procurement.
• Supervises the preparation of market cost studies, materials and methods, and recommends changes to the database.
• Assists region leadership by reviewing project details and providing recommendations for strategies and resources.
• Provides coordination with design leads for cost effectiveness and constructability for proposals.
• Ensures standardized use of estimating systems and maintains the cost database estimating system.
