Job summary

Shirley Parsons is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to support operations across multiple facilities, headquartered in Aurora, IL. This hands-on role focuses on advancing safety performance, strengthening regulatory compliance, and building scalable EHS programs for a multi-site network.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years in EHS within manufacturing, plus strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing or industrial operations.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA requirements, safety management systems, training development, compliance audits, and incident investigation methodologies.
  • Experience supporting environmental compliance initiatives including hazardous waste management, SDS administration, air emissions, stormwater, and environmental reporting requirements.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and balance regulatory requirements with operational needs.
  • Multi-site manufacturing experience; professional certifications such as CSP or ASP are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs across several manufacturing sites, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state regulations.
  • Partner with plant leadership, supervisors, maintenance, engineering, and HR teams to integrate safety into daily operations and drive employee engagement.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations and track corrective actions through completion.
  • Develop and maintain key safety and environmental programs, including machine guarding, lockout/tagout, hazard communication, PPE, contractor safety, emergency preparedness, and waste management.
  • Monitor EHS metrics and compliance performance, identify trends, provide leadership reporting, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives that reduce risk and improve operational effectiveness.

The Role

The Candidate
