Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field.
  • 7–10 years of EHSS experience in manufacturing with leadership responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental, health, safety and security regulations and EHSS management systems.
  • Experience influencing culture and leading cross-functional safety initiatives.
  • Preferred certifications such as CSP or CIH.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic EHSS leadership for the site and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and execute EHSS initiatives, risk reduction strategies, and annual site objectives.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, audits, and emergency preparedness.
  • Develop and manage EHSS budgets, metrics, training programs, and management systems.
  • Supervise EHSS personnel and collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, HR and others.

A leading advanced manufacturing organization is seeking an Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHSS) Manager for its facility in the Buffalo, NY area. This person will be tasked with leading site-wide EHSS strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving a proactive safety culture across a complex manufacturing environment. The Role
  • Provide strategic EHSS leadership for the site, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulations while serving as the subject matter expert on EHSS matters.
  • Partner with plant leadership to develop and execute EHSS initiatives, continuous improvement programs, risk reduction strategies, and annual site objectives.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action management, audits, inspections, emergency preparedness programs, and safety committees.
  • Develop and manage EHSS budgets, reporting metrics, training programs, and management systems while driving engagement across all levels of the organization.
  • Supervise EHSS personnel and collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, HR, and other functional teams to support safe processes, equipment changes, and organizational growth.
The Candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Science, or a related discipline, with approximately 7–10 years of EHSS experience in a manufacturing environment including leadership responsibility.
  • Strong working knowledge of environmental, health, safety, and security regulations, with experience implementing and sustaining EHSS management systems and compliance programs.
  • Proven ability to influence organizational culture, engage employees, and lead cross‑functional initiatives focused on safety performance and continuous improvement.
  • Experience supporting or implementing ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and regulated manufacturing environments
  • Professional certifications such as CSP or CIH are preferred, along with demonstrated leadership, project management, and people development capabilities.
