We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and manage our environmental, health, safety, and regulatory compliance programs across our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements while driving a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with a strong manufacturing background who can influence all levels of the organization, implement best-in-class EHS programs, and support operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA, and federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
- Coordinate EHS compliance activities across manufacturing sites.
- Conduct safety, environmental, and regulatory audits and inspections, identifying areas of risk and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and ensure site preparedness.
- Lead investigations of workplace accidents, incidents, injuries, and near misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Prepare and submit required environmental, safety, and regulatory reports and documentation.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to reduce workplace hazards.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, supervisors, and management.
- Promote a strong safety culture by coaching leaders and employees on safe work practices and regulatory compliance.
- Manage hazardous materials, waste disposal, recycling programs, and environmental sustainability initiatives.
- Monitor regulatory changes and update company policies and procedures as necessary.
- Analyze EHS performance metrics and develop action plans to improve overall safety and environmental performance.
- Participate in customer, regulatory, and third-party audits and ensure timely responses to findings.
- Partner with operations, engineering, maintenance, and leadership teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 to 7+ years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership or management experience within EHS.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations.
- Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, risk assessments, and safety audits.
- Experience developing and implementing EHS programs and policies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS management systems.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred.
