Job summary

IDEA - Islamic Development & Empowerment in America seeks a part-time Development Coordinator in Portland, OR. You will build donor and community relationships, support fundraising events, and represent IDEA in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, required.
• Experience with grassroots organizations or community engagement.
• Familiarity with local Muslim community and leaders.
• Strong organizational, project-management, time-management, and multitasking skills.
• Excellent oral communication and public speaking skills.
• Ability to interact with diverse backgrounds.
• Strong written communication and record keeping.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage priorities.
• Fundraising experience is a must.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% locally and regional/national; some international travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with donors, masajid, businesses, community institutions, volunteers, and the public.
• Strengthen masajid relationships and build new ones within communities.
• Conduct outreach visits and represent IDEA at events and programs.
• Plan and support regional fundraising activities with staff and volunteers.
• Respond to inquiries about campaigns, programs, and engagement opportunities.
• Deliver presentations to diverse audiences.
• Prepare plans, projections, and reports for the Regional Community Fund Development Manager.
• Research local communities and opportunities to support fundraising strategies.
• Continue professional development through trainings and workshops.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
