Job summary

IDEA, Islamic Development & Empowerment in America, is seeking a Development Coordinator in the Fresno/Bakersfield, CA region for a part-time role. You will build donor, masjid, and community relationships to advance development goals and support regional events and campaigns.

You will travel up to 60% regionally, work with volunteers and staff, present to diverse audiences, and report progress to the Fund Development leadership. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Experience with grassroots organizations and community engagement is preferred.
• Familiarity with the local Muslim community and community leaders is desired.
• Strong organizational, project-management, time-management, and multitasking skills.
• Excellent oral communication and public speaking skills.
• Ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in fundraising is a must.
• Must be available to travel at least 60% of the time within the region, with regional/national travel as needed, and possible international travel.
• Desire to work for a humanitarian cause.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours during events.
• Must have own transportation.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with donors, masajid, businesses, community institutions, volunteers, and the public in the assigned area.
• Strengthen relationships with existing masajid and identify opportunities to establish relationships with new masajid and communities.
• Conduct outreach visits and represent IDEA at community events and program engagements as assigned.
• Plan, organize, host, and support regional fundraising activities and events in coordination with the Regional Manager and volunteers.
• Respond to donor and community inquiries with accurate information about IDEA's campaigns, programs, and engagement opportunities.
• Schedule and deliver presentations to audiences of diverse backgrounds.
• Prepare and submit plans, projections, and reports to the Regional Community Fund Development Manager.
• Research local communities, prospects, and opportunities to support regional fundraising strategies.
• Continue to strengthen knowledge through required training, workshops, and professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
