Job summary

IDEA in Los Angeles/Valley, CA seeks a Development Coordinator to build and maintain relationships with donors, masajid, businesses, and community partners, advancing fundraising and outreach efforts. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will manage an assigned portfolio, coordinate events, and help expand IDEA’s regional presence.

The role requires strong communication, project management, and the ability to travel up to 60% domestically, including evenings and weekends for events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience with grassroots organizations and community engagement.
• Familiarity with the local Muslim community.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent oral communication and public speaking.
• Ability to build relationships with diverse groups.
• Strong written communication and record-keeping.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively under deadlines.
• Fundraising experience is required.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% domestically, with possible international travel.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace; Salesforce/ClickUp preferred.
• Evenings, weekends, and event flexibility.
• Own transportation; eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain donor, masajid, business, and community relationships.
• Plan and support regional fundraising activities and events.
• Represent IDEA at community events and program engagements.
• Coordinate outreach visits with staff and volunteers.
• Respond to inquiries about IDEA’s campaigns and opportunities.
• Prepare plans, projections, and reports for management.
• Travel locally to identified communities and prospects.
• Continuously develop job-related knowledge through trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
