Job summary

IDEA (Islamic Development & Empowerment in America) Nashville seeks a Development Coordinator to build donor, masjid, business, and community relationships, manage an assigned portfolio, and support fundraising campaigns under the Fund Development division.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, fundraising experience, strong communication, and willingness to travel; candidate must be able to work evenings and weekends and have reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, required.
• Experience with grassroots organizations and community engagement.
• Familiarity with local Muslim community leaders.
• Strong organizational, project-management, time-management, and multitasking skills.
• Excellent oral communication and public speaking skills.
• Ability to travel at least 60% of the time within their designated geographic area, regional/national travel as needed.
• Experience in fundraising a must.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours during events and campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with donors, masajid, businesses, community institutions, volunteers, and the general public throughout the assigned area.
• Strengthen relationships with existing masajid and identify opportunities to establish relationships with new masajid and communities.
• Conduct outreach visits and represent IDEA at community events and program engagements as assigned.
• Plan, organize, host, and support regional fundraising activities and events in coordination with the Regional Manager, Event Coordinator, other appropriate staff, and volunteers.
• Respond to donor and community inquiries with accurate and timely information about IDEA’s campaigns, programs, and opportunities for engagement.
• Schedules and delivers presentations to audiences of diverse backgrounds.
• Prepares and submits plans, projections, and reports to the Regional Community Fund Development Manager.
• Research local communities, prospects, and emerging opportunities to support regional fundraising and development strategies.
• Continue to strengthen job-related knowledge and skills through required training, workshops, readings, and professional-development opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
