Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Regional Disaster Officer for the Central & South Texas Region. You will lead regional disaster services strategy, programs, and partnerships, reporting to the Regional CEO and guiding a team of directors, staff, and volunteers to deliver preparedness, response, and recovery efforts across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; combination with experience may be considered
• Minimum of 10 years of related leadership experience in disaster services or emergency management
• Minimum of 7 years of management experience leading directors or senior managers
• Experience developing strategy, programs, and partnerships in disaster or emergency contexts
• Strong executive writing, presentation, and public speaking skills

Responsibilities

• Serve as the region’s senior leader and strategic partner to the Regional CEO.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive regional disaster services strategy.
• Provide executive oversight for disaster programs across the region.
• Lead a high performing regional disaster services team and volunteers.
• Build external partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and community partners.
