Job summary

The Department of Social Services - Division of Child Protection Services in Rapid City, SD seeks a Deputy Regional Manager to lead regional HR functions, staff development, and recruitment strategy. You will oversee operations across multiple counties, mentor supervisors, ensure compliance, and guide strategic planning to improve child protection service delivery.

Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent leadership experience, with strong abilities in change

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences or related field.
• Leadership experience in program or operations management may substitute for education.
• Relevant experience in human resources or social services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage regional human resources functions.
• Lead employee training and onboarding programs.
• Work with regional supervisors to manage staff development and performance.
• Develop and lead recruitment and retention strategies.
• Lead and manage the hiring process to include interview and selection.
• Assist the Regional Manager with overall regional operations, strategic planning, and organizational goals.
• Ensure compliance with agency policies, procedures, and applicable law and regulations.
• Analyze regional data to identify trends, evaluate performance, and develop solutions.
• Approve and process misc. payments.
• Complete administrative due process.
• Provide supervision of support staff.
• Gather and monitor data to identify trends and solutions.
• Represent the region through occasional travel, public speaking, meetings, and community engagement.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
