Job summary

The Department of Social Services / Child Protection Services in Mobridge, SD is seeking a full-time social services position. You will assess safety, provide intervention, and secure stability for children in need, with a broad range of responsibilities across family services and court collaboration.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a human service field, strong communication, and the ability to work in diverse settings, including emergencies and field visits.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in a human service-related field is preferred.
• Experience with assessments, intervention, and court-related processes is valued.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments with families from diverse backgrounds and analyze danger threats.
• Provide intervention services after determinations and manage ongoing safety plans.
• Collaborate with the court system and testify when needed.
• Identify foster/adoptive resources and monitor out-of-home or in-home placements.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in 24-hour on-call coverage.
