Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Regional Chief Engineer to lead and optimize the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems across our data center region.

You will drive maintenance programs, safety, and cost efficiency while collaborating with EOTs, CEs, FM, and third-party vendors. The role focuses on ensuring 99.999% availability by managing mid-to-large projects and developing standard operating procedures, training teams, and coordinating cross-functional

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facilities management experience.
• Experience managing medium to large-scale projects.
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.
• 5+ years of administrative experience including Microsoft Office products experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center, to include HVSS
• Operate independently with limited direct management
• Act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the region
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
• Create and deploy new standard practices for EOTs, CEs, and vendor support teams
• Provide training and guidance to EOTs, CEs, and FMs
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Amazon staff
• Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience
• Work cross-functionally across teams to effect cluster-wide performance improvement with our internal and external partners by designing and implementing processes, metrics, and programs that enhance the end to end employee experience
• Collaborate effectively across teams to define strategy, goals, and obtain commitment to timelines and deliverables
