Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a highly motivated Regional Chief Engineer to join our Data Center Engineering Operations team. You will ensure safe and reliable operation of MEP infrastructure, drive efficiency, and lead regional projects that span the US and international sites.

You will collaborate with on-site engineers, facility managers, and vendors to deliver high availability (99.999%) while optimizing costs, safety, and security across multiple data centers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facilities management experience.
• Experience managing medium to large-scale projects.
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.
• 5+ years of administrative experience including Microsoft Office products experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center.
• Operate independently with limited direct management.
• Act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the region.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Create and deploy new standard practices for EOTs, CEs, and vendor support teams.
• Provide training and guidance to EOTs, CEs, and FMs.
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Amazon staff.
• Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
• Work cross-functionally across teams to improve cluster-wide performance.
