Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Regional Chief Engineer to lead the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) infrastructure across data centers in the PHX/RNO region.

You will oversee daily operations, implement standard practices, and drive reliability and efficiency while collaborating with on-site technicians, facility managers, and third-party vendors. Responsibilities include incident response, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional program delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facilities management experience.
• 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience.
• Experience in written and verbal communication to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
• Experience in organizational leadership and development or talent management, with experience in a senior leadership role.
• Experience with large-scale power systems.
• Operating engineering license such as DC II, DC III, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center, to include HVSS
• Operate independently with limited direct management
• Act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the region
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
• Create and deploy new standard practices for EOTs, CEs, and vendor support teams
• Provide training and guidance to EOTs, CEs, and FMs
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Amazon staff
• Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience
• Work cross-functionally across teams to effect cluster-wide performance improvement with our internal and external partners by designing and implementing processes, metrics, and programs that enhance the end to end employee experience
• Collaborate effectively across teams to define strategy, goals, and obtain commitment to timelines and deliverables
