Job summary

AWS Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Regional Chief Engineer to join the Data Center Engineering Operations team.

You will oversee the regional MEP equipment, drive preventative maintenance, and coordinate with engineers, FM, and vendors to ensure peak efficiency and 99.999% availability for AWS data centers. Qualifications

• 5+ years of facilities management experience.
• 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or 10+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment experience

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center, to include HVSS
• Operate independently with limited direct management
• Act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the region
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
• Create and deploy new standard practices for EOTs, CEs, and vendor support teams
• Provide training and guidance to EOTs, CEs, and FMs
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Amazon staff
• Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience
• Work cross-functionally across teams to effect cluster-wide performance improvement with our internal and external partners by designing and implementing processes, metrics, and programs that enhance the end to end employee experience
• Collaborate effectively across teams to define strategy, goals, and obtain commitment to timelines and deliverables
