Job summary

Kinder Morgan, Inc. is seeking a senior corrosion engineer to administer the corrosion control program across the region. Responsibilities include design, installation, operation, and maintenance of corrosion control facilities to meet safety and regulatory requirements.

You will lead supervisors and technicians, manage budgets, coordinate training, and ensure compliance with DOT Part 195 and other regulations. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and a competitive pay range.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of corrosion-related experience with at least five years in design, construction, monitoring, and troubleshooting of complex corrosion control systems.
  • Excellent planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills; strong written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise regional corrosion control program within budget and staffing constraints.
  • Plan projects, monitor progress, adjust priorities and schedules for timely completion.
  • Oversee corrosion supervisors and technicians; participate in staff selection, promotions, and performance reviews.
  • Coordinate annual refresher, safety and emergency response training for corrosion personnel.
  • Develop and administer budgets for capital and maintenance based on staffing and resources.
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with budget and staffing levels.
  • Design corrosion monitoring and cathodic protection systems with drawings, specs, and calculations.
  • Coordinate with contracts, environment, and right-of-way departments; prepare bid documents when needed.
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct corrosion projects and installations; consult Director on major proposals.
  • Maintain professional relationships with NACE organizations; report to agencies and committees on corrosion protection systems.
  • Maintain records and generate reports; review field data, drawings, and surveys; adjust as needed.
  • Investigate field corrosion problems; coordinate with other engineers/technicians or vendors as required.
  • Resolve cathodic protection and interference issues; supervise actions or coordinate with contractors.
