Job summary

Kinder Morgan, Inc. is seeking an experienced corrosion engineer to lead the corrosion control program for the Natural Gas Pipeline business unit, coordinating with Division 1 operations in CA, NM, AZ and TX.

You will mentor field staff, develop standards, and resolve complex corrosion issues across coatings, CP systems, and inline inspection programs. Travel may be required to field locations; strong communication, regulatory knowledge, and project management skills are essential for success in

Qualifications

• Minimum of BS in an Engineering or Science discipline, optimally with at least 5 years of in-depth corrosion control experience and working knowledge of field operations for natural gas pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others in implementing corrosion control programs.
• A demonstrated history of excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to write concise technical reports, specifications and work instructions.
• Higher-level experience with DOT regulations and pipeline integrity standards is a plus.
• Proven project management skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects for different internal customers.

Responsibilities

• Support Division 1 corrosion personnel in establishing corrosion control priorities and alignment with corporate philosophy.
• Facilitate consistent application of corrosion control procedures across Division 1 assets.
• Provide technical review and mentoring to operations-based corrosion personnel.
• Direct and support development and maintenance of corrosion control standards; develop training materials.
• Review remedial action plans from inspections to ensure cost-effective solutions aligned with corporate philosophy.
• Provide expert input on complex corrosion issues such as stray current, AC mitigation, internal corrosion monitoring, and coatings.
• Assist in problem-solving with field-based supervisors and technicians.
• Engage with regulatory agencies and audits as needed.
