Job summary

Merck is seeking a Growth and Improvement minded Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Respiratory - COPD to drive our Strategic Operating Priorities. The role liaises between the scientific community and Merck to enhance understanding of scientific foundations for approved, in-development, and investigator-sponsored studies, while modeling inclusive leadership.

The position emphasizes field-based engagement with Scientific Leaders, adherence to GMSA strategy, SOPs, and regulatory

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years in COPD/Respiratory or related field beyond terminal degree.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA and related guidelines.

Responsibilities

Engage with national and regional Scientific Leaders to provide access to approved medical information.
Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions and serve as medical contact within the company.
Address inquiries outside scope (e.g., grants) to appropriate resources in line with policies.
Maintain current understanding of AOI and scientific environment in the therapeutic area.
Support scientific congresses with data exchange and post-meeting insights.
