Job summary

Trane Technologies plc is hiring a Regional Controls Engineer to lead hardware and software design for building automation systems. You will design cost-effective control solutions and ensure project requirements are met, with on-site surveys as needed.

The role emphasizes collaboration, CAD work, and documentation, including drawings, sequences of operations, and handoffs to service teams. A degree in engineering plus HVAC experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• HVAC industry knowledge including technician, project management, or estimating.
• Engineering degree in Electrical/Mechanical or related field, or 3+ years HVAC project experience.
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with HVAC, Building Automation, and Temperature Controls design.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure and network architecture.
• Experience with CAD and electrical drawings/schematics.
• Ability to work in a team and maintain organized records.
• Experience reviewing cost estimates for materials, subs, and labor.

Responsibilities

• Design commercial comfort control and automation systems under supervision.
• Review contract docs, proposals, specs, and submittals for automation design.
• Create installation drawings and sequences of operations for installations.
• Conduct on-site surveys to determine controls solutions.
• Prepare as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and service handoff documentation.
• Assist with wiring, programming, commissioning, and startup tasks.
• Maintain customer satisfaction through issue resolution and communication.
