Job summary

Amazon's Global Engineering Services (GES) North America Design & Construction team is seeking a Construction Manager to serve as Amazon's owner's representative in delivering built facilities and infrastructure supporting our logistics network.

You will manage the full construction lifecycle—from design review and contractor procurement through construction execution and operational handover—for new builds, retrofits and program initiatives across your region, with 60% travel and relocation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of proficiency with AutoCAD and/or BIM, and scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, or similar).
• 5+ years of experience as an Architect, Engineer, Construction Manager, or related construction discipline.
• 5+ years of project management spanning design through handover.
• 5+ years of experience negotiating construction, procurement, or labor contracts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Amazon's owner's representative and primary construction integrator across all assigned projects.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects from design phase through construction completion and handover.
• Conduct detailed reviews of bid packages, budgets, and schedules; resolve discrepancies.
• Own budget tracking, cashflow forecasting, and cost management.
• Negotiate construction, procurement, and labor contracts with developers and general contractors.
• Audit contractor performance to ensure skills and resources meet project requirements.
• Coordinate with AHJ for permitting, regulatory compliance, and approvals.
• Review construction documents for conformance to Amazon's specifications and standards.
• Identify and resolve design conflicts and schedule clashes across teams.
• Coach project teams and maintain a safety-first culture.
• Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Assess project performance through KPIs for safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
