Job summary

D.R. Horton is seeking an Area Construction Manager to supervise a team of Superintendents and Project Managers across multiple communities in the designated NJ region. You will implement company policies, monitor construction quality, manage budgets, and ensure safety and compliance throughout the build process.

The role requires overseeing field operations, coordinating with public agencies, and maintaining timelines to deliver ready-for-occupancy homes. Travel to sites is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
• Four to six years of related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules.
• Proficiency in cost control, customer satisfaction and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct construction activities in the field either directly or through Project Managers, General Superintendents and Supervisors.
• Set build times on each plan and provide schedules to meet the build times.
• Maintain profitability of homes by reviewing field purchase orders and controlling costs.
• Oversee training and development of field staff and ensure quality control.
• Ensure homes comply with contract specifications and are 100% complete.
• Ensure sites meet OSHA safety standards and coordinate with agencies for permits.
• Travel overnight as needed.
