Job summary

The Shelly Company, a CRH company, is seeking an Area Manager to oversee construction and paving activities within the designated Ohio area. You will be responsible for P/L, safety, profitability, and delivering a quality product while maintaining strong customer relations and staff development.

The role requires coordination with divisional operations, knowledge of ODOT specs, and the ability to travel and work nights/weekends when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field or four to six years of paving production/laydown experience.
• Knowledge of ODOT specs (448-449-446-447) and density specifications.
• Proficiency with Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate construction and paving activities within the area.
• Review work plans with Forepersons to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Maintain scheduling for area jobs and plants and coordinate production.
• Manage project costs to align with safety procedures and business plans.
• Review financial reports (weekly job costs, monthly CTC) and approve invoices.
• Foster customer relations and maintain community/public relations.
