Job summary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking an Area Publishing & Communications Director to lead a team of managers and staff across publishing and communications for Church areas in the United States. You will drive unified messaging, develop external campaigns, and build relationships with key leaders to support the mission.

Reporting to the Director for Temporal Affairs, you will oversee budget, resource planning, and timelines for area publishing products while ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent post-secondary education in business, public relations, or a communication-related field.
• 7 years of professional-level experience.
• A combination of education and experience may be considered for total 11 years.
• Proven track record of people management with at least 3 years leading teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, collaboration and org development skills.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas to leadership and teams.
• Experience managing organizational brand, reputation, internal/external communications.
• Experience with diverse communication channels and crisis management.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Technical proficiency with MS Office and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of managers, professionals, and staff to communicate clearly and with one voice.
• Develop internal and external campaigns and unify church communications.
• Build strategic relationships with key opinion leaders across the area.
• Oversee area annual planning of publishing products including budget, resources, and timelines.
• Ensure doctrinal accuracy, data privacy, and IP review for all deliverables.
• Coordinate with the Correlation Department on research and content development.
• Oversee production across print, video, animation, broadcasting, photography, social media and web publishing.
• Manage contractors and vendors, including performance and contracts.
• Hire and assess employees with HR in partnership; manage promotions and terminations as needed.
• Plan and support leadership, staff, and Church member events.
