Job summary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking a Senior Area Publishing & Communication Director to lead a team of managers and staff across the area, coordinating unified messaging for priority audiences in the United States. This role reports to the Director for Temporal Affairs and drives strategy, campaigns, and partnerships to advance gospel-related objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, public relations, or a communication-related field.
• 7 years of professional-level experience.
• 3+ years of people-management experience.
• Proven track record of effective people management and leadership.
• Experience developing and executing strategic communication plans.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Crisis management experience.

Responsibilities

• Increase understanding of the Church among priority audiences through unified communication.
• Manage organizational identity and reputation within the area.
• Develop internal and external campaigns.
• Build strategic relationships with government, interfaith, and community leaders.
• Extend reach of Church communication across channels while honoring doctrinal review.
• Oversee production: print, video, animation, broadcasting, social media, web.
• Direct management of contractors, vendors, and volunteers.
