Job summary

Newsletter Jobs is seeking a Senior Area Publishing & Communications Director to lead a team of managers and professionals in Utah. The role focuses on unified, clear Church communications across priority audiences, aligning local efforts with Global Church guidelines.

You will oversee branding, campaigns, and stakeholder relationships while ensuring doctrinal accuracy and data privacy in all deliverables. The role reports to the Director for Temporal Affairs and requires a track record of

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post-secondary education in business, public relations, or a communications-related field.
• 7+ years of professional-level experience.
• A combination of education and experience for a total of 11 years may be considered.
• Proven track record of effective people management with at least three years of people-management experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and organizational development skills.
• Experience in developing, designing, and executing strategic communication plans.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Experience in crisis management.
• Experience managing organizational brand, reputation, internal communication, and/or external media relations.

Responsibilities

• Increase understanding of the Church among all God’s children through effective audience understanding and unified communication efforts across the area.
• Manage the Church’s organizational identity and reputation within the area in close alignment with the area efforts and the Global Church Communication Guide.
• Develop internal and external campaigns. Build relationships with key opinion leaders across the area to promote the mission and religious freedom.
• Extend the reach of Church communication across priority audiences identified by the Area Presidency.
• Coordinate with the Correlation Department to ensure research supports local product development and that doctrinal, IP, privacy, and Visual Identity Office reviews are satisfied.
• Unify church communication and publishing at the area level through an integrated planning process.
• Oversee annual area publishing product planning, budgeting, resources, and timelines.
• Develop a team to understand audience needs, values, and experiences to increase understanding.
• Oversee product management to support area products and global adaptations.
• Preserve intellectual property, doctrinal accuracy, and data privacy in deliverables.
• Build and maintain relationships with leaders, organizations, and influencers.
