Job summary

Core States Group is seeking a Senior Director of Civil Engineering - Regional Practice Leader to grow and lead regional civil engineering across the Pacific Northwest. The role emphasizes entrepreneurial leadership, client relationship development, and strong financial management to drive sustainable growth while maintaining technical credibility.

The leader will build teams, mentor leaders, and drive performance across offices, ensuring high-quality delivery and a trusted client experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• PE license strongly preferred.
• MBA or business leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Significant civil engineering leadership experience with client relationships.
• Experience leading national client programs and scaling delivery teams.
• Strong business and financial acumen to evaluate opportunities and staffing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow regional civil engineering practices across the nation.
• Develop and execute regional practice strategies aligned with objectives.
• Strengthen local brand recognition and regional market presence.
• Identify growth opportunities and position Core States for long-term success.
• Mentor regional teams and build leadership depth across offices.
• Promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Strengthen client relationships and position as trusted advisor.
• Support strategic pursuits and expand regional opportunities.
• Communicate Core States value proposition clearly (delivery, quality, speed).
• Improve delivery controls: scope, schedule, budget, quality, client comms.
